The Now, Soon and Anytime Method

Last updated: September 13, 2026

Rymlo uses three buckets instead of projects, labels, and complex priorities. Each bucket answers one practical question: when does this task deserve your attention?

Now: choose what matters now

Now is your active view. It holds no more than three active tasks, so it should contain only work you are prepared to act on. When Now is full, make space before adding something else.

Soon: keep upcoming work nearby

Soon is for tasks you expect to consider next, but not yet. It keeps upcoming work easy to find without competing with the tasks already in Now. When space opens, Pick from Soon helps you make the next choice.

Anytime: save it without making it urgent

Anytime is for useful ideas and tasks with no immediate claim on your attention. They remain available without making today’s view longer.

One clear example

Now

Outline the presentation

Call the bike shop

Prepare tomorrow’s lunch

Soon

Book a museum ticket

Replace the desk lamp

Review the reading list

Anytime

Learn a bread recipe

Sketch a balcony garden

Plan a weekend train trip

Move tasks when their meaning changes

The buckets are not permanent categories. Move a task to Now when you intend to act on it. Return it to Soon if it can wait. Move an idea to Anytime when no date or urgency is useful. Rymlo provides undo after a move, so adjusting the list stays low pressure.

Keep the system light

You do not need to classify every part of your life. Capture the task, put it in the bucket that matches its current timing, and revisit it when that timing changes. The three buckets are the method.
